The Shadow Mentawai surf camp is your gateway to the ultimate experience and vacation in the Northern Mentawais.

What makes your stay truly unique is that we are locals,  born and raised here. We know every reef, every wave, every corner, and every story of the Mentawai Islands.
Beyond surfing, you’ll spend your days in paradise: an isolated island with pristine beaches, mangroves, and our new pool, perfect for sunsets and warm nights after an epic day on the waves.


We have different kind of accommodations in order to fit your requirements! All of them with air conditioner and all the facilities you need to spend a comfortable stay.

The lodges:
- 2 triple lodges 
- 1 twin lodge
There are 4 bathrooms outside these rooms with hot shower.

Our Bungalows:

• Couple Bungalow – with private bathroom. Perfect for couples.
• Triple Bungalow – with private bathroom. Ideal for couples with kids, 3 friends, couple who need more space...
• Double Beach Bungalows (2) – each with private bathroom. It is a 2-floor storey (floors are not connected), making it perfect for 4 friends, 2 couples, or a big family.

Solo travelers who want extra privacy can pay aN additional fee per night to enjoy their room alone.

The Restaurant & Facilities
Just steps from the bungalows, you’ll find our restaurant, yoga chalet, sunset palapa, beach showers, pingpong area, a pool, a gym, a massage bungalow, and 3 ready-to-go boats, all on an island just for you. 🌴

The Waves – 3 Surfbreaks at Your Door
What makes us truly unique is our location: 3 surfbreaks right at your doorstep, and most of the time… completely empty.

• One left-hander
• One right-hander
• One A-frame

Plus, we’re close to 20+ more surf spots: Beng Beng, Ebay, Hideaways, Nipussi, Burgerworld, Kandui, Riffles, and more. 🌊

The Speedboats
In 3 to 35 minutes (depending on the surf spot), our speedboats can take you to countless waves. Each boat has a capacity of up to 13 people, but we usually split guests into 7–8 per boat so everyone can be taken to the perfect spot for their level and preferences.

THE RESTAURANT

​Our restaurant is thought for 14 people. However we have an extra table to have 4 more guests. 
There are hammocks, puffs and sofas to spend your evenings comfortable and chilling after a long surf journey.

We offer Indonesian and International delicious food.
Our Indonesian (Mentawaiian) Chef is inspired by Mediterranean Cousine, as well as Latam and Asian Food.

​The night before our waitress will ask you to choose one of the following breakfast:

We have many different options as one member of the team is vegan and we've learnt how to cook delicious vegan food :)

THE BAR

Cold beers, cokes, fanta, sprite, tonic water, fresh coconuts and juices are available in our Bar at the Restaurant.

Here we also offer table games as Ludo, Janga, Catan, TheMind, Uno cards, Scrable, Chess or Domino.

We watch our daily surf pictures every evening on TV.

Guitar and many puffs and hammocks available to spend chill evenings!

The Shadow Mentawai's wi-fi is free.
and finally...is FAST! Really fast.
However, we hope you enjoy the environment more than the wi-fi connection.
Remember wi-fi will always wait for you at your home place but the coconut trees and the sound of the birds won't!
